Child Development Lab
Support services like child care are necessities for students with children, and Heartland’s original Child Development Lab and Learning Center operated with a continual waiting list. As part of the College’s mission to provide access to higher education, this Child Development Lab facility is helping to meet student demands for child care. Students using the lab’s services can concentrate on their academic pursuits knowing that their children are in a safe, developmentally-focused environment. In addition, students enrolled in Heartland’s Early Childhood Education program have enhanced opportunities to hone their child care skills in a hands-on environment at the College’s main campus. The 19,600-square-foot facility is located at the end of Millennium Avenue on the northeast side of campus. It includes:
